FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
WHAT KIND OF PRODUCTS DO YOU WORK ON?
We work on physical products. Whether it's a bike helmet, a camping chair, or a totally unique invention idea you have, we work across a broad range of product categories.
WHO OWNS THE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY?
You own the intellectual property. We do not claim ownership of your ideas or of any of the ideas we generate during the design process.
We are happy to sign a non disclosure agreement (NDA) that you have before discussing your idea. We also have an NDA that we can send you prior to initial consultation if you'd find it easier to use ours.
HOW DOES THE DESIGN PROCESS WORK?
Phase 1: Product research and user research. This stage is important in order to understand the context of the design, how it'll be used, and who by. It's also helpful to know what competitors are (and aren't) doing.
Phase 2: Concepts. A series of drawings and/or digital renderings to communicate potential design directions. We present these concepts to you and welcome any suggestions or feedback, and modify the design direction accordingly.

Phase 3: Prototype Building. Testing an idea in the real world allows us to gain valuable feedback on whether a design operates as intended and whether it looks and feels the way we want. It's also an opportunity for you as the client to test and feel the design, along with conducting consumer testing.
Phase 4: Implementing any design changes after testing.
Phase 5: Preparing the design for manufacture. This includes finalising the CAD model, choosing materials, and liaising with manufacturers.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
While each project's cost varies depending on complexity, we complete projects at a fraction of the cost of a traditional industrial design agency.
We achieve this by having a different design process that's optimised for startups and inventors, and also by having lower overhead costs, which means we can pass these savings on to the client.
